Comparisons between the old and the new are inevitable. In fact, every aspect of KARZZZZ will be under a scanner, right from Rishi-Simi/Himesh-Urmila, the winning musical score by L.P./Himesh, the dramatic moments, et al.
Cast: Himesh Reshammiya, Urmila Matondkar, Danny Denzongpa, Gulshan Grover and Rohini Hattangadi
Karzzz’ is a remake of the veteran actor Rishi Kapoor’s ‘Karz’ and with Satish Kaushik behind the camera, Himesh does look like a ‘rock star’. The makers never ever promised new-age cinema. Given the fact that KARZZZZ talks of punar janam, plus there’s a dash of mythology, as also everything that goes into the making of an entertainer, just don’t expect anything path-breaking from KARZZZZ.
Monty (Himesh Reshammiya) is a rock star, who falls in love with Tina (Shweta Kumar) in South Africa, while she’s on an assignment from her catering college in Kenya.
Monty dreams of a certain place that he has never visited yet feels related to it, he also begins to get flashes about a beautiful chic in his dream, Kamini (Urmila Matondkar).
The re-birth saga begins in Kenya, where Himesh spots the palace that he sees in his dreams and later meets Kamini, who’s now a princess. Monty then comes to terms with his past life.
For, Monty is actually Ravi Verma (Dino Morea) from a previous life. Ravi was deceived, betrayed and killed by Kamini.
‘Karzzz’ never veers too far and sticks to the theme. The old saga of reincarnation and vengeance is also brought out full-throttle.
