Vikram Bhatt’s last flick Life Mein Kabhie Kabhie was almost a breakthrough but for a movie of its kind casting was the main loophole. This time around Vikram has managed to rope in a decent star cast for his action thriller – Speed. Just like most of his other movies Vikram borrows his script from a Hollywood thriller ‘Cellular’.
Cast: Zayed Khan, Urmila Matondkar, Aashish, Aftab, Sanjay, Sophie,Tanushree, Amrita Arora
Zayed Khan(Sandy) is in London to convince her Girl friend and begged her to start over once again. There is Sanjay Suri, an undercover Agent whose wife (Urmilla Mantodkar) & kid has been kidnapped by Aftaab Shivdasani who wants him to assassinate Prime Minister of India on his London visit. He has good guy denies but for the sake of his family he has to do.
Meanwhile Urmilla Mantodkar got chance to give a call and she randomly get connected to Zayed Khan, now Zayed Khan is her only hope to save her. Here Zayed khan’s Girlfriend Tanushree Dutta gets irritated because of Zayed’s involvement in saving the strangers. So all this creates a thriller.
Director Vikram Bhatt’s recent films have lacked quality and entertainment. ‘Speed’ does entertain in bits, but those bits hardly cover the glaring flaws. There is little logic in this action thriller. The movie is just another cock and bull story of a conspiracy to kill the PM of India by an ex-intelligence officer as a revenge for some incident that he considers as an injustice to him for serving the country.
The song sequence between Aashish – Amrita was unnecessary. Also were they actually romancing? Have you ever seen a PM who permits the officer in charge of her security to go on a romantic date on duty hours?
