One of the most popular movies of 1994, starring those days arch-rivals action heros Suniel Shetty and Akshay Kumar. With thrilling story, explosive music and nail bitting suspense drama, the movie was sure shot hit even before its screening.
The Mast Mast song became like national anthem during those days from chiawala to Discos, from parties to wedding bands, virtually everywhere.
Cast: Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, Raveena Tandon, Nasurdeen Shah
Vishal (Sunil Shetty) is unjustly imprisoned for killing the men who raped and murdered his wife. When a lovely young reporter named Roma Singh (Raveena Tandon) hears his story, she investigates and, with the help of her publisher Jindal (Naseeruddin Shah), fights to get him released. Vishal thinks his problems may finally be over, but what he and Roma don’t know is that they’re just pawns in someone else’s dangerous and sinister game. MOHRA is another solid effort from noted action director Rajiv Rai, who moves the plot along briskly and infuses it with plenty of suspense.
This movie I think is one of the greatest successes of Rajiv Rai. The plot is full of twists and turns and the name of the movie pretty much lets you know a few surprises are expected. The acting is good and the blockbuster song “Tu cheez badi hai mast mast” is just amazing. Rajiv Rai has done his best to keep the audience guessing and believe me you will be on the edge of your seats. It’s a great movie that I would recommend to any Hindi movie lover.
