Geet is a happy, lively, fun loving girl who hails from a small town in Punjab. She belongs to a close-knit, traditionalist family which upholds honor, respect and dignity above all else.

The story begins with Geet’s wedding. Her family is ecstatic as they have found the perfect match for their daughter - a young, successful NRI, who brings with him the promise of a bright and happy future. But on the behest of the boy’s family, the wedding is kept a low key rushed up affair.
